“No community can stand without its warriors, and its warriors have no purpose without their community. ”

The warrior spirit resides in all of us, but some people feel a special connection to it. They are the ones in our society who answer the call to serve as soldiers, police, firefighters, paramedics, park rangers, and more. Warrior Heart Gallery (WHG) is a visionary program and art exhibit designed to strengthen the tether between the warrior servant and the community. It’s a place where the warrior spirit can learn to rest and heal as it encounters the spirit of creativity.

A picture is worth a thousand words. WHG hosts creative workshops focused on helping warriors visually share their stories of service, sacrifice, growth, transition, and becoming. The goal of this program is not only to teach, but to curate and celebrate the visual witnessing. Now that’s something to be proud of!

This program is guided by Mike Novotny, who is a retired Army veteran, transdisciplinary professional artist, scholar, and creativity facilitator. Mike is in his final year of PhD Candidacy and has devoted his life to exploring regenerative strategies for storytelling, resilience, transformation, and personal growth within the warrior class.
